Bullying - A Complete Approach
The Department for Children, Schools and Families has issued guidance to schools entitled 'Safe to Learn: Embedding Anti-Bullying Work in Schools' to help them draw up anti-bullying policies. To assist schools, STS has produced 'Bullying - A Complete Approach' which actively tackles bullying in a classroom setting. It includes a workbook, photocopiable worksheets and helpful tips on drawing up an anti-bullying policy.
This pack can be used in conjunction with the Government's 'Bullying - A Charter for Action' as part of a whole school approach. There is also a short play to initiate class discussion and a section for teachers and parents with hints on how to identify bullying. Anti-bullying good practice is vital to enable schools to deal with bullying sensitively and effectively.
It covers the following:
- What is bullying?
- Typical targets for bullies
- Types of bullying
- Do you know how it feels?
- Reasons for bullying
- What to do about bullying
- Peer pressure
- Signs of bullying
- Anti-bullying policy
- Anti-bullying good practice
- Self-esteem
- Assertiveness
